Kaya — a Tagalog word pressed into the hands of Filipino daughters for generations.

Equal parts comfort and command. It is the word our founder grew up hearing. It is the word this studio is built on.
Kaya. Because anything is possible.
Between Two Worlds
Kaya Leather Studio began the way the best journeys do — with a return.
When our founder Katrina, an Australian-Filipina designer, travelled back to her mother's hometown in the provinces of the Philippines, she expected nostalgia. What she found instead was inspiration: mist settling over green mountains, the unhurried rhythm of provincial life, water buffalo standing patient in the fields — landscapes that asked nothing of her except attention.
She came home sketching.
Those sketches became the Bundok Collection — bundok is Tagalog for mountain — a debut line of leather pieces that carried the silhouettes, textures, and quiet confidence of that landscape into the city. It was meant to be one collection. It became a calling.
What We Make
Kaya Leather Studio creates handcrafted leather bags, shoes, wallets and accessories for people who move through the world with intention.
Every piece begins as a conversation — about silhouette, material, colour, purpose. It is then brought to life by our studio in Vietnam, where our team of master leathermakers carry decades of craft experience between them. Our leathers are sourced from the finest tanneries across the world — selected not just for how they look on day one, but for how they wear over a lifetime.
Every piece is made to order. No two are identical. No piece leaves our studio without Katrina's eye on it.
We don't do seasons. We don't do shortcuts. We don't produce a single bag that wasn't asked for.

Kaya exists in the space between luxury and accessibility — and we think that space is exactly where it should be.
Our pieces are priced to be attainable without being disposable. We believe that owning something truly well-made shouldn't require a luxury house price tag — it should require only the willingness to invest in something that will outlast every fast fashion bag you have ever owned.

Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, Kaya Leather Studio operates with a global perspective and an intentionally small footprint.
Our design direction is led by Katrina and her creative team in Melbourne. Our craft is executed by master leathermakers in our Vietnam studio — artisans who bring years of experience and an unwavering commitment to quality to every piece they touch.
Alongside a trusted business partner and a close-knit team of fellow creatives, Katrina has built Kaya into a studio that refuses to compromise — on craft, on materials, on the belief that the things we carry should be worth carrying forever.
